Mychelle works as the Communications Director for The Association of Pet Dog Trainers which encompasses web site content development, and all media relations, advertising, and other association communications. She also serves asEditor-in-Chief of their bimonthly magazine, The APDT Chronicle of the Dog. The publication has received numerous nominations and awards from the prestigious Dog Writers Association of America and in 2008 won for Best Special Interest Magazine.

In 2004, she became a Co-Editor for Animal Behavior Consulting: Theory and Practice for the IAABC. She worked in this role to develop peer-reviewed scholarly articles on companion animal behavior. Mychelle edited the compilation book, The Dog Trainers Resource (Dogwise Publishing, 2006) with a second volume published in 2008. She has several published articles as well and is a regular contributor to The APDT Chronicle of the Dog and Off Lead.

Mychelle has a Masters in Social Welfare Administration and Community Organizing and Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also holds a certification in the Internet Design and Technology Program from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

In her spare time, Mychelle volunteers with Best Friends Animal Society as a Community Training Partner.She also provides limited companion animal behavior consultant services. She is an active supporter of Best Friends and the African Wild Dog Conservancy.
